In the second quarter of 2022, the top Film & Television apps in Europe demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here is a closer look at the trends for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Disney+ saw significant fluctuations in its weekly revenue, peaking at around $6.1M in mid-June and ending the quarter at approximately $6.0M. Downloads surged dramatically in June, reaching nearly 1.5M in the week of June 20. Active users followed a similar upward trend, culminating at over 19M by the end of June.

Netflix experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, starting at $1.3M in late March and growing to about $1.8M by the end of June. Weekly downloads fluctuated but peaked at 605K in the last week of June. Active users showed resilience, maintaining a high of over 51M at the end of the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video had a relatively stable revenue stream, with weekly figures hovering around $700K. Downloads were highest at the beginning of April with 490K, and active users peaked in late May, reaching over 10M before slightly declining towards the end of June.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies showed a modest revenue trend, with weekly earnings fluctuating around $500K. Downloads saw a notable decrease, falling from 627K in late March to around 188K by mid-June. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 2M throughout the quarter.
